Daniel graduated from Texas A&M University in 2013 and spent his first year after college doing research for the university in the area of wildlife biology and ecology. He has been on a number of field research assignments and has done a variety of really interesting scientific tasks–from determining the gender of minnows using a microscope to handling alligators and “tubing” venomous snakes.
In 2014, Daniel was the High Ropes Director and a member of the Central Leadership Staff for Laity Lodge Youth Camp. Adventure recreation is always fun, and Daniel knows it also requires skill, safety, and strong leadership.
Daniel loves his work because it is a combination of science, adventure, and people. The more time he spends working in the Canyon, whether at Youth Camp, Family Camp, or Outdoor Education, the more he appreciates the vision of The H. E. Butt Family Foundation and its staff.
